EVERY SUNDAY 6pm - 10pm SOUL - JAZZ - UPLIFTING HOUSE
218 MARTIN STREET, PENTICTON
Join us after a long week on the vineyard, at the brewery, behind the bar, serving tables, styling hair, or whatever you do in the hospitality and service industry that doesn't require you bright-eyed and bushy tailed on a Monday morning!
Drink features including our new hi-ball and craft cocktail menu, along with chill, soul and house music, mixed-media art curated by two-spirit artist Idris Hudson.
“The Symbol Of Unconditional Love” (TSOUL) is an art, music and fragrance collaborative that was created to bring community together in unique and radical ways. The TSOUL collaboration with Slackwater Brewing is a fusion of family engagement, soulful music and industry. The music policy will range from soul and jazz, evolving into uplifting classic house music as the night gets later.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Idris is a BC mixed-media and olfactory artist, blending luxury fragrance and presenting mixed-media art shows throughout the Province. He has been recently featured by CBC, OutlookTV and the Penticton Herald for his activism and community fundraising, and served this past summer as Official Grand Marshall for the Vancouver Pride Parade 50th Anniversary, “50 Years & Still Fighting”. He has been honoured with a StandOUt Award for Community Education in Harm Reduction, and is an alumni speaker and emcee for TEDx Conferences.
Idris will curate the audio and visual elements of TSOUL each week, bringing sounds to the Okanagan Valley that rarely leave the underground. His soulful, powerful DJ sets have been sought after by artists and personalities including Richard Brodeur, Fashion Week, Pamela Masik, Michael Kors and Pamela Anderson. Expect intricate weavings of soul-driven house music, drummy soul fusion and uplifting jazz.
ABOUT SLACKWATER BREWING
We make beer for people who love nature. And beer.
The building was once the site of a local institution known for enjoying many libations in the spirit of companionship. Some things will never change. The newly renovated space features two floors, two bars and two patios worth of whistle-wetting all built around an open-faced brewery. Twelve draught taps and locally inspired pub fare are done counter service in this beerhall-like taproom.
